Boogát
Whether in Spanish, French or English, Boogát raps and sings about the universality of cultural minorities, tackling the themes of identity, migration, belonging and love, through lyrics that oscillate between seriousness and humor, and encourage reflection.
Boogát is a fixture on Quebec’s global music scene, with a consistently festive and innovative sound. Its blend of styles – from hip-hop to modern Latin American music, electro and other more traditional genres – has made it an internationally renowned name, with several tours, numerous collaborations and prestigious awards (Juno, Félix, GAMIQ, etc.).
His new album, Del Horizonte (released April 26, 2024), tackles themes such as decolonization, subversion and immigration. It features collaborations with El Dusty, Mateus Vidal (Olodum), DJ Shub, Okan, Tannergaard, Ahmed Moneka, Waahli, Diogo Ramos, Maï and Mestre Pato (T Dot Batu).
