In honour of the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day, the Victoria Francophone Society is very happy to welcome Mike Paul Kuekuatsheu, a Francophone Innu artist from Quebec, and Zoe Lheritier, a young Francophone author from the Plains Cree Nation.

3 p.m – 4 p.m: Meet Zoe Lheritier, writer of the book Le chant de nos ancêtres. Zoe Anne-Marie Lheritier is a French and Nêhiyaw author from Treaty 4 First Nation in Saskatchewan. Her writing is rooted in a journey of cultural reconnection and reflection on identity and resilience. Committed to raising awareness of Indigenous realities in intercultural dialogue, her words carry a voice that is both intimate and engaged. Through her work, Zoe explores the strength of the spirit, ancestral heritage, and the power of cultural transmission.
4:30 p.m: Welcome ceremony and artistic performance by the local community
5:00 p.m – 7 p.m: Concert by Mike Paul Kuekuatsheu
