Rick (sax)\, Jareth (guitar)\, Peter (bass)\, and Todd (drums) have spent the past year turning favourite old soul\, jazz\, funk\, and reggae tunes into springboards for extended\, exploratory jams — long grooves\, rotating solos\, and a willingness to follow a song wherever it wants to go. They’ve recently welcomed vocalists Lauren and Allison into the fold\, adding new voices to the mix. With original material steeped in those same influences and a relaxed\, no-pressure energy that comes from a band of friends who just love to play\, expect a set that’s equal parts tight and unpredictable.\n\n\n6:00 – 7:00 p.m. – STRAIGHT COLD PLAYERS  \nTheir musical universe is a vibrant blend of Latin rhythms\, soul\, jazz\, and funk. Since moving to Victoria\, he has become an active member of the local music scene and has collaborated with the SFV on numerous occasions.
